The Hovership

The neobarbarians made a show a force on horseback, but their javelins and arrows bounced harmlessly off the belly plates of the hovership. From above, the Overlords watched the horsemen silently, scanning each of their minds, and planning tomorrow's strategy.
Preliminary sketch in markers of the hovership.
The painting appeared in my book "Imaginative Realism: How to Paint What Doesn't Exist," and was originally used as a cover for the science fiction novel called "Homecoming" by John Dalmas.
